Topic Number 607 - Adoption Credit and Adoption Assistance Programs
Tax benefits for adoption include both a tax credit for qualified adoption expenses paid to adopt an eligible child and an exclusion from income for employer-provided adoption assistance. The credit is nonrefundable, which means it's limited to your tax liability for the year. However, any credit in excess of your tax liability may be carried forward for up to five years. The maximum amount (dollar limit) for 2018 is $13,810 per child.

Adoption affects 60% of households in the United States. Yet adoptive parents and their families struggle to find mental health professionals who understand the complexities of adoption. C.A.S.E. seeks to fill the gap by providing mental health and child welfare professionals with training to become "adoption-competent." Our programs help these professionals gain the skills, insight and experience necessary to serve the needs if the adoption and foster care communities.

Magen David Adom is Israel’s national ambulance, blood-services, and disaster-relief organization, serving as emergency medical first-responders for the state’s 8.8 million people. MDA is the only organization mandated by the Israeli government to serve in this role, but it’s not a government agency, so it relies on people like you for funding. Through your gift, you’re saving lives.
