Sumner County Inmates Released from Hospital after Apparent Drug Overdose
Several Sumner County inmates have been released from the hospital after an apparent drug overdose.
According to officials, a prisoner was arrested and brought to the Sumner County Jail on Sunday for a community corrections violation.
On Monday morning, the inmate was placed in her cell. Other inmates reportedly began experiencing respiratory distress around 6 a.m.
Investigators are working to identify the substance that the inmates ingested. They say they will seek charges against whoever smuggled the drugs into the jail.
