Clinic Offers Help Clearing Record of Criminal Charges

Many people are not aware that often in Tennessee when a criminal charge is dismissed, it may still appear on their public record until it is expunged (or erased) from the public record. The presence of the charge can lead to loss of employment or inability to secure new employment. Expunging a dismissed criminal charge can thus make a significant difference in someone’s life.

If you or someone you know wants to see if they are eligible for an expungement of their Knox County General Sessions Court or Knoxville Municipal Court dismissed criminal charge, then call 865-975-6775 to pre-register with the UT Expungement Clinic Hotline.

General Sessions Judge Charles Cerny and Municipal Court Judge John Rosson Jr. will be present for Knoxville's first Expungement Clinic that is open to the general public.
