Walgreens to Start Selling CBD Products
(WFLA) - Walgreens is set to begin selling CBD products in more than a thousand stores in certain states, a report says.
According to CNBC, the pharmacy chain will sell cannabis-based creams, patches and sprays. Those products will be available in 1,500 stores in Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico, Kentucky, Tennessee, Vermont, South Carolina, Illinois and Indiana.
"This product offering is in line with our efforts to provide a wider range of accessible health and wellbeing products and services to best meet the needs and preferences of our customers,"spokesman Brian Faith said in a statement to CNBC.
Earlier this month, CVS started selling CBD-infused products in eight states.
Neither CVS nor Walgreens is making CBD products available in Florida stores yet.
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is derived from the cannabis plant and is considered to be non-psychoactive. The FDA says companies cannot yet add it to food or sell it as a dietary supplement.
