Macklemore Will Play a Free Concert in Knoxville this Fall. Here's How to Get Tickets

Macklemore fans, brace yourselves. The "Thrift Shop" rapper will come to Knoxville to perform a free concert in October.

U.S. Cellular is presenting the concert as a way to celebrate its 35th anniversary of offering wireless service in the Knoxville area, according to a U.S. Cellular news release.

The show will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Thompson-Boling Arena. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

“We are thrilled to have Macklemore, a global superstar, for this free event as we celebrate 35 years of service in Knoxville,” Nathan Waddell, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in East Tennessee, said in the release.

“Our longstanding commitment to Knoxville is a source of pride for all of us at U.S. Cellular, and as a dedicated member of the business community, we hope music fans will join us for what is sure to be an incredible concert.”

Macklemore, aka Benjamin Hammond Haggerty of Seattle, is also known for his hits "Can't Hold Us," "Same Love" and "Downtown."

How to get Macklemore tickets

The concert is free, but attendees will still need tickets to go to the show.

The free tickets will be available at Knoxville U.S. Cellular store locations on Saturday, Sept. 28. For a list of locations, visit www.uscellularcelebrates.com.

Tickets will be given out in pairs on a first-come, first-served basis to U.S. Cellular customers and non-customers who are 16 or older. Each store will have a limited number of tickets, according to the news release.

U.S. Cellular customers will get a perk on the day of the show. They can enter the general admission seating area 30 minutes earlier than the general public.
