Crime Task Force Raids Oak Ridge Bookstore
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WATE) - The 7th Judicial District Crime Task Force conducted a raid Thursday afternoon at an Oak Ridge bookstore.
Officials were at McGuire Books, Music, Movies & More on South Illinois Avenue in Oak Ridge.
The bookstore was surrounded by crime scene tape and law enforcement officials loading one of three large trucks with boxes of items from inside the store.
Agents with the Drug Task Force were also on scene with the 7th District Attorney, Dave Clark.
The office of the 7th District Attorney General, Dave Clark, sent a statement to WATE 6 On Your Side Friday morning in regards to the numerous inquiries from our station regarding Thursday's raid at a bookstore in Oak Ridge, saying quote:
"This office has received numerous inquiries about events yesterday in Oak Ridge. We have nothing to report at this time. As a matter of policy, we do not typically confirm or deny investigations or comment about pending investigations. When it is allowed or appropriate to comment, this office sends equal and simultaneous notice to all local media outlets. General Clark is working outside of the office and is unavailable, but wanted to respond to inquiries out of respect so that no reporter's time was wasted."
